Cobb, Irvin S. Roughing It De Luxe. Doran, 1914, edition unknown, no dustjacket, 219 pages. Early volume by the prolific Kentucky-born humorist, who wrote for the Saturday Evening Post and newspapers. This volume is illustrated by Chicago Tribune cartoonist James T. McCutcheon. Good condition overall, small stain at one edge of the cover pastedown, fading to the gold lettering on the spine, and an old bookseller's sticker (Gardenside Bookshop, Boston) on the inside back cover which does not, however, obscure the inner cover illustration. Item #40026. $7.50

Molesworth, Mrs. (Mary Louisa). The Girls and I. Chicago: Doran, no date, edition unknown, no dust jacket, 254 pages. This volume contains two short novels, "That Girl in Black" and "The Girls and I." One of many versions of the internationally popular works by the British Mrs. Molesworth, who was read by both girls and boys. "The Girls and I" is narrated by the brother. Generally good condition, some wear to spine and corners, and the highly acid paper of this originally cheap edition has darkened considerably. Nicely decorated cover and spine. Item #30007. $7.50

Anon. (Assoc. of American Railroads). Quiz Jr. Railroad Questions and Answers. Washington, DC: Association of American Railroads, no date (probably mid-1950s), edition unknown, unpaginated (16 pages). One hundred questions and answers, for use in schools. Illustrated with many small red and blue line drawings. Very good condition, staple bound with no rust or wear, just some small water wrinkling on the inside front cover. Item #80005. $5.00

Watson, Lynn. Alimony, or Death of the Clock. Keegan Press, 1981, 1st edition, no dustjacket, 97+pages. Semi-experimental fiction composed of linked stories. Cover and chapter-heading illustrations by the author. This volume is number 3 of 35 hardbound copies printed in Iowa City, Iowa. Inscribed "Norman, thank you for the support -- Watson 81". Good condition overall, but spine is very faded and back cover shows age. Item #40025. $15.00

Deighton, Len. Ou est le Garlic? French Cooking in 50 Lessons. New York: Harper and Row, 1977, first US edition in this format, 224 pages. Return to the days of cooking with lots of butter! A charming cookbook by an author more noted for thrillers. Well-illustrated with cartoon-like strips and other images. No DJ--printed cover. Some wear to cover, but clean and tight overall. Item #70009. $20.00
